The 550/575m in silver is pure sex.

Is it just me, or is the 550 just a bit sexier than the 575?

Front engine, RWD, small hood scoop, and fender gilles?
I'll take this instead thanks:
:-)

Excellent choice; one of my favorites.

Well I can't argue with you there :)

Just a a teeny bit.

BLASPHEMY!!!

I'd take the Vette. No questions asked.
Though I think we've chatted before how I'm a die-hard American Car Brands guy.

Have we? Maybe it was when I talked about GM not producing anything that I like, cause I remember someone telling me about some of their more interesting cars like the GNX.
![]() 01/21/2014 at 14:14 |

That is one of their interesting cars.
and you know, the ATS and CTS. And the C7. And the new Colorado/Canyon.
sorry I'm loving their line up and I'm a Ford guy.
I'm the one with the 1968 Mercury Montego, I posted my exhaust video in retort to those silly lambo's you posted a while back. (I have no idea why I remember this shit lol).

I figured you owned something similar by the name. I am not big on luxury cars so Cadillac's line up isn't for me, but this goes for any luxury brand. I do however love their CTS-V wagon. I would buy one of those so hard.
I think I remember something similar, I want to say I posted a bunch of V12s calling them the sexiest sounding engine ever.

I have ridden in a silver 575M with a gated shifter! It's better than you think it could be. I have a picture somewhere...maybe I will be able to find it when I get back to my computer. Awesome car!

That must have felt phenomenal!

Let me just say that I had a tuned 335 at the time and the way that v12 pulled was just astounding. I really hope I can find a pic... I think it was the first Ferrari I ever rode in

saw one yesterday (in that color) on the freeway here in Los Angeles... so beautiful, I got a little misty-eyed. definitely my favorite contemporary prancing horse (though the 458 gets me hard, too). even the missus agreed it was attractive and said i could have one as soon as i start making f-you money...

Yep. Actually I'm not sure the exhaust was done yet at that point.
Here let me put a little American V8 influence in your life (real fun starts around 45 seconds):

The 550/575 was a nice car, definitely. The proportions are great. I've just never been a fan of the details.
I'm more of a 456 and 456M man, myself.

Oh sweet Jesus!!! You should put a hot cam in there. You know, to help you up the hills.

My mechanic has recommended that too. There are some things I can't do in the garage, like this exhaust so he gets it for that stuff.
He wants me to add headers and a cam, possibly heads. I don't know if I'll go that far with it. I was going to do headers at the same time as the dual exhaust (which is flowmaster super 44 btw), he had some off a 351W mustang that were too big for a Fox Body, but wouldn't be any trouble on this biggin lol. Unfortunately the shift linkage from the column shift trans was in the way.
Maybe a cam.

The time to buy one is NOW. Prices can't go any lower

Whoops! I remembered incorrectly - it was a black/black 575M not a silver one. SR20(s):

She looks beautiful.

Why not both? But definitely get a cam! If you don't DD the car, why not go all out on it? Plus, how does reliability look with a cam on these cars. Cause on mine, it is already at a 100hp/L and for an NA engine that is pretty high up there, so adding a cam might drastically shorten the life of the engine.
![]() 01/22/2014 at 15:39 |

This is true. Headers are probably more likely. I'd be worried about the stock valves/heads with an upgraded cam. If I did a cam I'd want the heads gone through/rebuilt/upgraded.
But most importantly I've gotten the engine to a happy place, so now I have to work on some cosmetic issues...like the speed holes...in the floor. They are minor but I need them repaired, then some carpet, then a headliner, then paint.

How much power does the car make?
![]() 01/22/2014 at 15:54 |

My best estimate is just under 300 hp.
started at 210, carb increase was probably 25, intake was probably 25, removing overly restrictive exhaust for the dual flows was probably around 25, more air with air cleaner i dunno 280-300. I may be underestimating or overestimating some of those.
